Now Hiring Caregivers in Gainesville and Alachua County
Gainesville Home Care is hiring caregivers across Gainesville and Alachua County. If you are patient, dependable and good with older adults, we would like to meet you. Our caregivers help seniors stay safe and comfortable at home with personal care, companionship and everyday help. We are locally owned, and we try to build caregiver jobs in Gainesville, FL that people want to keep.
Who We Hire
Our caregivers come from many backgrounds. Some are certified nursing assistants or home health aides. Some cared for a parent or grandparent and found they were good at it. Others worked in assisted living, hospitals or hospitality. What they share is kindness, reliability and good judgment. They notice when a client is not eating, they show up on time and they treat every home with respect. We hire people who see this work as a long-term relationship with the families they serve.
What We Offer Our Caregivers
Home Care Aide and Companion Roles
Personal care aide (caregiver). You help clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, moving safely around the home, meals and medication reminders. Many personal care clients are recovering from a hospital stay or living with a chronic condition. Experience as a CNA or HHA is helpful for this role.
Companion. You provide conversation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands and rides to appointments, church or the grocery store. Companions help clients stay active and connected, and they are often the first to notice when something changes.
Live-in caregiver. You stay in the client's home for several days at a time, helping with daily routines and providing overnight reassurance. Live-in roles suit experienced caregivers who want a steady assignment with one family. We also staff 24-hour care in shifts for clients who need someone awake through the night.

Questions families ask
Do I need to be a CNA or HHA to work as a caregiver?
Not for every role. Certification is helpful for personal care positions, but companion roles do not require it. All caregivers complete our paid training, including dementia care, and keep CPR current.
What background check is required?
Florida law requires a Level 2 background screening, which includes fingerprinting, for home care workers. We arrange the screening during hiring.
How much do caregivers earn?
Pay is competitive and depends on the role and schedule. We discuss pay openly at the interview so you know exactly what to expect before you accept.
Can I choose my hours and area?
Yes. We build schedules around your availability and try to match you with steady clients close to where you live in Gainesville or nearby Alachua County towns.
